Alexander Bonds
First Assistant Public Defender
Mr. Bonds graduated from DePaul College of Law. He began his legal career in 1969 as a solo practitioner. In 1970, he joined the firm of Codo and Berkey and has been a member of that firm and its successor firm to the present. Mr. Bonds has been a part-time Assistant Public Defender since July of 1973. He has been the First Assistant Public Defender since 1981. As a part-time member of the Public Defender’s Office, he is allowed to maintain his private practice of law.
Mr. Bonds is married with two adult sons and two grandchildren.
