Currently, the Public Defender’s Office employs a staff of forty-five (45) attorneys. There are thirty-two (32) full-time attorneys and thirteen (13) part-time attorneys. The Public Defender’s Office has eight (8) Defense Investigators. In addition, there are nine (9) Legal Secretaries who support the attorney and investigative staff.
For the calendar year of 2009, the Office handled 2,936 felony cases, 17,716 misdemeanor cases, and 1,270 juvenile cases.
