Peter G. O’Connor is an Illinois criminal defense attorney and Army veteran who focuses on courtroom advocacy and protecting the rights of people accused of crimes. Before joining the Public Defender’s Office, he ran his own criminal defense practice representing clients in DUI, traffic, and felony cases across several northern Illinois counties. Earlier in his career, he worked at a private criminal defense firm, where he gained significant courtroom experience handling a wide range of criminal cases.
O’Connor earned his B.A. in English from the University of Illinois at Chicago, an M.A. from Purdue University Calumet, and his J.D. from UIC School of Law. Outside of court, he is an avid music enthusiast who enjoys collecting records and experimenting with DJing and music production.
