Ryan Kosztya obtained his Bachelor’s Degree, magna cum laude, in Sociology from Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan. He obtained his Juris Doctor from The John Marshall Law School, Chicago, Illinois. Previous employment experience includes stints with the City of Chicago – Corporation Counsel, private law practice and with the Will County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Mr. Kosztya has practiced with the Will County Public Defender’s Office since March 17, 2025. He is currently assigned to Circuit Judge Collette Safford’s courtroom where he assists clients in their defense to a variety of misdemeanor charges. Mr. Kosztya prides himself on being prepared for each file assigned him and enjoys the opportunity to assist those who unfortunately find themselves charged.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family. Mr. Kosztya enjoys spending time in Wisconsin, all things related to motorcycling, cooking, gardening, reading and being mercilessly teased about his prolonged hopes for an eventual Cleveland Browns Super Bowl appearance and win during his lifetime.
